Cybersecurity Executive | Former Deputy CISO, SSA | CEO, CASMO Consulting With over 25 years of leadership in both civilian and military sectors, our founder is a multi-certified cybersecurity and IT executive who has driven large-scale transformations across federal agencies like the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
As Deputy and Acting CISO at SSA, he led the agency’s Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) implementation under Executive Order 14028, improving enterprise security and propelling SSA’s FISMA compliance score from 70% to 98% — the most improved among all federal agencies.

His 32-year military career includes leadership roles with the Texas National Guard, where he helped establish the first-ever multi-state Cyber Protection Team and led Red/Blue Team operations supporting national cyber defense.
At the VA, he enhanced veteran care delivery by deploying enterprise DLP, enabling secure telehealth, and boosting infrastructure visibility from 55% to 96%.
Today, as CEO of CASMO Consulting, he provides cybersecurity advisory services to both government and private clients, specializing in:
